Summer is upon us. So, the chances are you’re in the midst of summer party planning. And if you’re not, you’d better get a move on because before you know it, summer will have been and gone!
Luckily, if you’ve yet to get your act together, we have the perfect summer party venue for you. It’s grand, it’s steeped in history and it’s got plenty of outdoor space. Can you guess where we’re talking about? That’s right, it’s BMA House!
Located right in the centre of London, this is a venue you certainly won’t want to miss out on. Here’s why we think you’ll love it just as much as we do.
An oh-so-elegant courtyard
Summer parties should be all about making the most of the warmer weather. So, we bet you’ll be chuffed to hear that BMA House has not one, but two outdoor spaces!
First up is the elegant Courtyard. With wrought iron gates, a beautiful four-statue fountain and the backdrop of an imposing Grade II listed building, it’s a rare gem in the heart of London. There’s room for up to 320 guests – just picture them all sipping champagne and nibbling on canapes in this sophisticated setting!
Oh, and if you’re anxious about the (somewhat temperamental!) Great British weather, worry no more – BMA House offers one of their roomy indoor spaces as a back-up option to all summer parties. In fact, lots of brands choose to hire the Courtyard in conjunction with BMA House’s magnificent Great Hall regardless – that way, you have one space for a gorgeous summer drinks reception, and another for dancing the night away. Nice!
A lush botanical garden
If a classy courtyard isn’t quite the vibe you’re after, never fear – there’s another outdoor option for you, just as gorgeous but a tad more relaxed. Welcome to BMA House’s tranquil Garden!
Home to a wealth of physic plants, beautiful botanics and fabulous flowers, it’s a lush setting simply made for summer parties, drinks receptions and barbecues. With room for 90 guests, it’s an intimate haven tucked away from the busy streets of London – especially magical once you bring out the lanterns and fairy lights!
But that’s not all. The Garden is usually hired in conjunction with the gorgeous Garden Room. This sun-filled space has direct access to the Garden and is adorned with botanical-themed artwork – plus, with a fixed bar and space for live music, it really does have everything you need for a cracking summer party.
All the history
Okay, so we may have mentioned that BMA House is Grade II listed once or twice already. But did you know that it’s been sat in the heart of London for almost 100 years?
It’s true! This remarkable building was designed in 1911 by Sir Edwin Lutyens – often seen as the greatest British architect of the twentieth century! Then, in 1925, it was opened by King George V himself, when it became home to the British Medical Association. So, it’s certainly rubbed shoulders with the big guns.
Oh, and remember those wrought iron gates we mentioned when we were telling you about the stunning Courtyard? Well, they were dedicated by none other than the Archbishop of Canterbury, to commemorate the lives lost in WW1. Suffice to say that this is the venue for you if you want to make sure your summer party goes down in history!
Location, location, location
Located right in the centre of London, BMA House couldn’t be any easier to get to if it tried! Euston, Russell Square and Euston Square stations are just a stone’s throw away. So, guests coming from within London, the UK or elsewhere in Europe will be spoilt for choice when it comes to transport links.
In fact, BMA House has even partnered up with Cross River Partnership to promote a ‘Clean Air Walking Route’ from Kings Cross. In other words, environmentally-conscious guests can take to the backstreets off the busy Euston Road to enjoy a cleaner journey with 57% less pollution. Bliss!
Got guests looking to make a trip of it? This historic part of London is simply riddled with sites to see and things to do – from galleries to theatres and shops. And there are plenty of lovely hotels to choose from too. Suffice to say that the tourists on your guestlist certainly won’t be disappointed.
A heart of green
BMA House isn’t just green when it comes to its outdoor space. Oh, no. It is green in many more ways, as it places sustainability at the heart of everything it does – from hosting plastic and paper-free events to locally sourcing produce for catering.
In fact, this remarkable venue has reduced its delegate carbon footprint by a whopping 69% over the last four years, and it’s reduced its water usage by 5.4 million litres per year – all earning it a Gold accreditation with Green Tourism. Not bad at all for a Grade II listed building!
If you’re on a drive to become greener (and let’s be honest, shouldn’t we all be?!) there couldn’t be a more perfect venue for your summer party.
Eat, drink and be merry
Last but not least, BMA House is a master at entertaining. Its summer party offering can include everything from a ‘botanical gin bar’ to a magic mirror photobooth, a DJ and dancefloor to a live caricaturist. All taken care of by your dedicated event planner, so that when the big day arrives, you can sit back, relax and be merry (or get your dance shoes on!).
And when it comes to the food, what can we say?! BMA House’s catering partners, CH&CO are all about bespoke menus, top-notch service and high-quality, local ingredients. Whether you want a fiery BBQ, vibrant street food stalls or refined canapes, everything’s completely customisable. So, you’re sure to have a spot-on menu to suit your summer party theme and crowd!
As you can see, BMA House really does have it all when it comes to summer parties – from outdoor space to a prime location, dedicated event planners to sustainability goals. What more could you ask for?
