Here at Hire Space we have just had the first booking for a marriage proposal at one of our venues. So I'll start with a massive congratulations to David and Gaby the couple to be. Don't worry we're not giving the game away, the engagement was on Sunday!
For popping the big question David headed to Vista at Trafalgar Square, one of our favorite roof top bar locations. With Hire Space negotiating we managed to pull some strings and get David and Gaby in before the bar opened to the public! Leaving them with the roof top and the impressive view all to themselves. Great for them but also great for the venue who would have otherwise have been left with an empty space, win win.
The guys at Vista added a champagne reception and worked brilliantly with David on a clever ploy about going for a "works lunch" setting the scene for the perfect engagement.
But what are the other prime proposal places? Well, if you want city glamour, countryside escape, or something that's little bit creative we know the ideal venue to start you on the road to matrimonial magnificence! Gents, get reading and ladies, get hinting.
Vista at the Trafalgar
Do like David and choose a great view and a great spot for declaring your undying love… or similar. Enjoy exotic cocktails at the heart of London, keeping it contemporary. Take in panoramic views over Trafalgar square to Big Ben and the London Eye. The perfect backdrop for those ‘just-engaged’ photos – fill Facebook and make the world jealous!
London Wetlands Centre
There's nothing more romantic than a couple of love birds, so first off the mark is the Wetlands Centre a nature reserve full of our winged friends. For the ideal romantic gesture, why not go back to nature and let the stunning views from the observatory at the centre overlooking the picturesque lake, wildlife and London’s distinctive landmarks in the distance take the pressure off you and provide the natural backdrop (get it?) to your traditional and memorable proposal.
Searcy's
Hide the ring in the cake! Wine and dine at the top of one the most prominent buildings on London’s skyline - who could refuse? Offering 360 degree views over the best city in the world- feel your importance 180m up in the sky. You might (just about literally) feel over the moon when you’re up there. A definite for any food aficionado, expect a meal of the highest class to celebrate your engagement- truly unforgettable.
HMS President 1918
Everything is more fun on a boat, that's a fact. So a proposal - which must already be in the top 5 best days - on a boat must be the best thing in the world pretty much ever. HMS President at Victoria Embankment has great sweeping down our majestic river so is an ideal setting. For popping the big Q head to the President's deck.
Odeon Whiteleys
For those cinema buffs amongst you or those who just can’t do anything ordinary, take inspiration from the infamous video below and pop the question live on screen. The perfect venue? Lounge 2 at Odeon. Here you can calm your nerves with fully reclining leather seats and double the average cinema-seat legroom- you can be assured to be at your most comfortable and let the screen ask the question for you. Just don’t forget the ring!
Hope you've enjoyed my suggestions. While we're on the subject, I feel I should point you to this, surely the best marriage proposal ever. Great stuff. I'll be blogging here over the next week so keep tuned for more top tips. Reuben.
