Planning an event? Looking for a jaw-dropping London venue? We’ve found the all-rounder you desperately need in your life!
Located on London’s cultural Southbank, Glaziers Hall strikes the perfect balance between contemporary and characterful – with a range of versatile spaces, a rich history, state-of-the-art tech and views to die for. Here are just a few reasons why this venue is sure to make it to the top of your wishlist – whether you’re planning a glitzy awards ceremony, a showstopping conference or an intimate drinks reception.
Make it your own
First things first, Glaziers Hall offers a fabulous choice of seven unique spaces, spread over three interconnected floors. From the flexible Banqueting Hall with its capacity of 300, to the intimate Thames Room with room for just 30, there really is a space and style to suit every kind of event and every capacity. Especially considering you can hire any of these rooms on their own or in conjunction with others.
We particularly love this one-of-a-kind venue for conferences and awards ceremonies. But it’s got the versatility to be used for all sorts of occasions – whether that’s meetings, presentations, receptions, press launches, gala dinners, exhibitions, product launches or even fashion shows. The sky’s the limit!
Contemporary and characterful
Glaziers Hall oozes character. Just look at the exposed Georgian brick and listed York stone floor of the London Bridge Arches – or the stained glass windows and oak panelling of the Court Room – to see what we mean. The Library even showcases volumes of historical texts and Livery artefacts dating all the way back to the 1600s!
However, fused with the building’s rich heritage, you’ll find contemporary design and state-of-the-art tech that’s guaranteed to level up any event. Which brings us onto…
Terrifically technical
You might be surprised to hear that a Grade II listed building with such a rich heritage could ever be considered modern. But that’s exactly how we’d describe Glaziers Hall!
That’s right, you’ll find state-of-the-art tech wherever you turn – from excellent AV facilities and pin-spot lighting in the Banqueting Hall to the in-built projector and screen in every room. In fact, Glaziers Hall even has cutting-edge 1GB wired internet and Wifi 6, allowing over 300 active devices to download at 100mbps at any one time!
A spot-on location
Could there be a spot in London more enviable than the cultural Southbank? We think not. And, as luck would have it, that’s exactly where Glaziers Hall is situated.
Better still, this fabulous venue is just around the corner from Borough Market and minutes from London Bridge station. In other words, it’ll be oh-so-easy for your delegates to get to, wherever they’re coming from. And it’s the perfect place for any budding tourists who want to make a day of it!
Views, views, views
As if Glaziers Hall’s enviable Southbank location wasn’t enough, it sports unrivalled views over both the River Thames and the City – making this the perfect backdrop to any memorable event.
One of the most spectacular views has to be from the stunning River Room. Boasting five floor-to-ceiling glazed arches, it almost looks as if you’re suspended over the Thames, with breathtaking views over the city that are particularly impressive when lit up at night. Just picture the selfies your guests will be taking here!
A commitment to sustainability
It’s never been so important to consider the sustainability of your events – both from a branding perspective and, more importantly, when it comes to being the difference you want to see in the world. Luckily, Glaziers Hall can help. The team is committed to the sustainable management of their activities and has developed a policy to prove it – including looking at waste management, frequency of deliveries and supplier relationships.
It uses home-grown supplies as much as possible, including fresh fruit and veg from Borough Market next door and the surrounding area. In fact, its efforts have even secured it the Green Tourism Gold Award!
Go down in history
The current Glaziers Hall was built back in 1808 after the original Glaziers Hall was destroyed hundreds of years earlier in the Great Fire of London in 1666. Literary nuts will love the fact that the venue’s ‘new’ location adjoins London Bridge and the so-called ‘Nancy Steps’ – made famous by Charles Dickens in Oliver Twist!
Today, Glaziers Hall hasn’t forgotten its roots. It’s still home to three prestigious livery companies. And of course, it’s the perfect spot to ensure your own event goes down in history for all the right reasons!
As you can see, there’s no shortage of reasons to book Glaziers Hall for your next event. Plus, the event management team here will be able to bring their wealth of experience delivering corporate and private functions to the table, to help you manage your event seamlessly.
