In the run-up to the Hire Space awards this October we wanted to highlight the nominees for one of our favourite awards, the Unsung Hero award.
This award celebrates an outstanding member of staff at a venue. They are instrumental to the day-to-day running of a venue. They always go above and beyond for their clients. Most importantly, they deserve to be recognised.
We spoke to Rachael Hulme, Head of Events at Kings Place Events to find out what it meant to be nominated and what her work life is like at Kings Place.
How does it feel to have been nominated for this award?
I am very surprised and honoured to be put forward for this award!
Could you describe what it's like working at Kings Place Events
I have worked at Kings Place for nearly 10 years now and have watched the venue change and grow over that time. We have pushed boundaries and looked at new ways to use the spaces to make the venue the best it can be for our clients.
We like a challenge and I always joke with the client that if they can think of something to do in their event that I have not done before there is a prize to be won ;-)
I came to Kings Place thinking I would stay for a few months and then go off traveling. Well it’s been 10 years and I can’t believe how quickly it has gone. I have met and worked with some amazing people, many of which have become lifelong friends.
The Hire Space awards celebrate the very best of the Events Industry and this year the awards ceremony will be taking place at the Museum of London.
